COMPANY

Hughes Cain and Associates is a Manufacturer’s Representative of active and passive components, cable assemblies, sub-assemblies and complete turnkey assemblies in the Texas/ Oklahoma/ Louisiana/ Arkansas marketplace.  With offices in Dallas, Austin and Matamoros our firm represents a select group of leading manufacturers of custom and standard electronic components.   We have five Field Sales Associates and two Inside Sales Associates, including our Distributor Coordinator.We enjoy being on the cutting edge of technology. 

Over the years, we have sought out principals who are ahead of the pack with state-of-the-art products and the highest quality standards. Hughes Cain & Associates is large enough to cover our territory well, yet small enough that each employee can take pride in the fact that he or she is making a substantial contribution to our overall success.

MISSION

Our objective is to be the very best Manufacturers' Representative Firm in the Southwest. Our goal is to promote the products of the manufacturers represented both directly to Original Equipment Manufacturers, as well as through Distribution.

MARKET

Major markets served include: Industrial, Petrochemical, Computer/Peripheral, Wireless Communications, Telecom, Networking, Defense/Military, Medical, Measurement & Control, and Subcontract Manufacturing.

We know our marketplace.  Local relationships are well established in Engineering and Purchasing at major accounts.  Our reputation for integrity and devotion to the needs of our customers has built up a reservoir of goodwill, which is invaluable in getting new business for our principals, often at the expense of the competition.

PEOPLE

Hughes Cain is a professional organization known for it’s dedicated, technically proficient, sales and marketing expertise, along with competent customer service.  This professionalism is accomplished in the following ways:

Hiring: We utilize the ASSESS Psychological Test to help in the evaluation process for new Sales Associates.

Training: All Sales Engineers receive intensive training on the principals' products through in-house product training, as well as through attendance at Seminars sponsored by principals and/or the ERA.

Motivation: Compensation of salary plus commission for all sales in the  accounts and /or territories for which they are responsible; factory-sponsored and rep-sponsored promotions; the satisfaction of knowing they are selling for professional manufacturers.

SERVICE

We strive to maintain our reputation as the reps that have the answers.  Everyone in our organization is aware that our very existence depends on service to both our customers and principals.  To provide this high standard of service we emphasize the following:

  • Quick response to all incoming communications.
  • Each Field Sales Associate is equipped with the necessary tools for mobile communication.
  • Activity reports and forecasts to our principals who identify major new business opportunities, design wins, and follow-up feedback.
  • Continuous monitoring of all open purchase orders.  Our goal is to  advise our customers of any impending delivery problems before  they occur.

STABILITY

The Jim Hughes Company was founded in 1975. O & M Sales, Inc., formerly Oeler & Menelaides, has been serving the South Central region since 1970. The Jim Hughes Company and O & M Sales merged in 2010, forming Hughes Cain & Associates. We hire the best people we can find, and work hard to create an exciting and rewarding working environment.
